My main payment processor is ⊡ Square and invoices and recipets are provided through eDoula, which is linked to my Square processor. This allows me to accept all major cards via in person and online.
A great way to afford doula care is to add it to your registry! I'm a proud partner with BE HER VILLAGE! It's a groundbreaking gift registry that gets you the funds you need for the support you deserve. Because let's face it: No one needs more stuff. Instead of being gifted thousands of dollars of expensive baby items (42 newborn-size onesies anyone?) we’re helping moms get what they really need: Support! The perfect gift, every time.
Add Doula Support to Your Registry
Absolutely! When I price out my services keep in mind these things: I do not work full time. I do not always get consistent clientele and work. I am still making much less than I did when I worked a full time job with benefits.
In addition to that, I still must be compensated for my time, the education, networks and memberships I have joined in order to stay current in birth work, the time I spend printing, creating content, gift packages, and of course the time I actually spend with you! I don’t know anyone running their own business who would not charge a wage livable or needed in their business, even if it is a business of love and service to others.
Yes! Absolutely. When an invoice is sent, you will have the option to make a custom payment amount. Payment plans are agreed upon during contract signing and must be scheduled out during that signing for full transparency.
Payment is due in full at the time of signing or payments can be be made over the following schedule: | ||||
Due at Signing: | $250.00 | $375.00 | $500.00 | $750.00 |
Due at 12 weeks | $250.00 | $375.00 | $500.00 | $750.00 |
Due at 27 weeks | $250.00 | $375.00 | $500.00 | $750.00 |
Due at 38 Weeks | $250.00 | $375.00 | $500.00 | $750.00 |
Package Total: | $1,000.00 | $1,500.00 | $2,000.00 | $3,000.00 |
If booking a package/service during a different trimester, require payment up to that point in pregnancy. For example, if you book 27 weeks, you would be required to pay at least half of the total upon signing/first invoice. The $150 retainer fee for the "Roadmap Meeting" is applied to the due at signing balance or the first charge depending on your trimester.
The best value is booking EARLY! This way, we can take the time to spread out our meetings and have plenty of communication throughout your pregnany!
Yes! I only accept bank checks or money orders in order to avoid bounced checks. Please make the check out to: "Nicole Kristensen" and write "Holystic Maternity Care" in the memo. This allows me flexiblity to deposit it and get it to where it needs to go quickly.
Yes! And you have OPTIONS: you can create a special registry on BE HER VILLAGE, and specifically add my services as well as others such as IBCLC and more! Then you can share your registry and people and gift you the services you desire! This means to plan ahead!
You can create any type of funding essentially and people can donate to help pay for services. I can help connect you to fundraising sources.
You can ask family and friends to gift you and they can pay me directly as well. You can use the codes provided on my receipt so that your insurance can reimburse you. You can also run your HSA/FSA card as I accept those as well.
I do not directly take or bill your insurance company for services. However, I am registered with a special code that your insurance company needs, along with receipt of services and payment, so that you can submit your claim for reimbursement for up to whatever your plan allows. If you know ahead how much your plan will reimburse, please disclose this information to me, and we may be able to adjust your package and contract if you want a full reimbrsement. Just note, depending on your plan, your package may be smaller or larger than you initially plan!
My Medicaid enrollment is currently being PROCCESSED! NYS will have different package requirements than my private packages, these clients will be under a specially crafted contract through their service provider, if they have one.
Yes! Adjustments are are always offered for those in need. “Proof of need” is required however and this is discussed during a contract meeting or scheduled meeting. I do require some compensation, even if its from a 3rd party social services, church or non profit provider. Please keep in mind all information shared with me is kept in full confidence and while I am not required to keep HIPPA, I still follow HIPPA.
